Our Preps are Little Learners

Our Preps love the 'Little Learners Love Literacy®' program. It is all about teaching Reading and Spelling in a clear and structured way. We believe that children learn best when they are taught step-by-step, starting with simple concepts and gradually moving to more complex ones. This approach is called explicit teaching.

In our program, teachers follow a structured plan, guiding students through each step of the learning process. Each week, our teaching model follows this pattern:

  1. We start by reviewing & revising previously learned sounds and words using Speed Sounds and Chants.

  2. We determine what new skill or concept needs to be taught next, based on teaching sequence and assessments.

  3. We plan activities and games to help children practice and master the new skill, using our program's resources.

  4. Children apply their new knowledge by reading decodable stories and practicing independent writing.

  5. We regularly assess children's progress to track their development and group them accordingly.
